Our programs, learning experiences and feedback surveys

Programs and learning experiences delivered by Paluma Environmental Education Centre are in the core subject areas of Science, History and Geography.

Programs and learning experiences are also closely aligned with our pedagogical models:

  • the social science "nesting model" of Self-Others-Place, where a student's knowledge base expands to include a responsibility for action
  • The Australian Curriculum cross-curricular priority of Sustainability - World Views-Systems-Futures and the relevant Organising Ideas
  • the traditional philosophical base of environmental education for sustainability (EEfS) of Heart-Head-Hand. This allows students to hone their sensory appreciations of the natural environment

Our excursion programs are consciously designed to align with our pedagogical philosophies, while also strongly supporting time-poor teachers in the delivery of the Australian Curriculum.  For State School teachers, this may be through alignment of the excursion program to the relevant C2C unit.
