Caught on camera!

For over a month now, we have found neat piles of chewed Davidson's Plums on one of our bench seats under the tree.  The Plums have been collected from the garden bed behind the seat and carried to the clean, flat surface of the timber seat, where they have been enjoyed on a nightly basis.  Despite setting up the field camera several times, we had to wait to get these clear shots of one of our iconic rainforest mammals, the Giant White-Tailed Rat.  Although we brainstormed this with Cannonvale students, we have no clear idea why it carries the fruit from the leaf litter of the garden bed - maybe doesn't like eating soil and dead leaves?  The images also show the rat using its front paws as "hands".
